“Katelyn takes the lead on the duet, showcasing her sunny voice and delicate rasp while Derek’s deeper vocals provide an unmatched blend that brings warmth and sincerity to the country-radio-ready track,” shared music journalist Melinda Lorge who exclusively unveiled the track on Country Now yesterday. “With its optimistic message and soothing melody, ‘Who Needs To Hear This,’ is bound to connect with listeners everywhere as the husband and wife duo touch on a subject that resonates with much of the world today,” she continued.

Known for their irresistible melodies and passionate storytelling, The Drye’s possess a warmness and sincerity that is palpable. Approaching their songwriting with a wide armed embrace to all parts of the human experience, from life's most joyful moments to its most trying, they are effectively playing a role in the de-stigmatization of mental health and encouraging a brave acceptance and love of the human condition. From releasing music speaking candidly on their own real-life marital highs-and-lows to sharing their most private and agonizing experiences of loss and grief to delivering cheerful ballads full of color, The Dryes continue to stand alone in the industry as an act that has built a career from nothing but sheer authenticity, cementing themselves as a force for good.

Taking a pause from releasing music in late 2022, The Dryes found their next endeavor to be with Blake Shelton on Team Blake for NBC’s “THE VOICE” where they performed through the “Knockouts” and seized the opportunity to connect with listeners across the country and extend their fanbase.

Previously, the duo released single House on Fire,” a passionate make-up song, pointing back to the initial desires felt from a burgeoning relationship. The track succeeded the release of “YES,” which had American Songwriter noting The Dryes ability to “showcase the power of loving someone.”

The duos cheerful, happy go lucky single Take You Dancin,’” received a stand alone piece in Billboard where acclaimed music journalist Annie Rueter shared, “The Dryes kick things up a notch in its infectious new single...the feel-good tune has Derek and Katelyn Drye sharing harmonies on the foot- stomping number.”

The couple launched their career in 2018 with single, “War,” a song based upon Derek Dryes’ personal dealings with his mother’s suicide when he was a child and paired with an incredibly touching and sincere music video which was spotlighted by CMT. The song catapulted on Spotify and respective official playlists and now logs over seven million streams. It was within that searing pain that listeners heard in the song — and in the entirety of their debut EP Vol. 1 — that a growing legion of fans found a refuge of sorts within this couple that refused to shy away from their truth. And they did it all independently, playing by their own rules.

Following the powerful launch, Katelyn and Derek Drye continued their fast-paced growth in 2019, catching attention and praise from notable outlets including The Boot and Cowboys & Indians. Jon Freeman of Rolling Stone Country raved about their debut single “Amen” stating: “The Dryes sing their origin story in the slinky ‘Amen,’ mingling potent sexuality with the salvation of love. ‘I met him singing in the church choir, lit up my heart like that holy fire,’ sings Katelyn Drye over a scuzzy guitar riff that recalls Norman Greenbaum's classic ‘Spirit in the Sky’ and a strutting beat that could make the most conservative church lady clutch her pearls. Derek adds harmonies in the chorus breakdown, a down-low gospel chant that asks the rhetorical question: ‘Can I get an amen?’ With a groove this tough, absolutely.”
