NASHVILLE, TN (November 25, 2022) — Hot off their run with NBC’s “THE VOICE” and just in time for the holiday season, The Dryes have delivered an original cozy Christmas tune, “Christmas Is Callin.’”

The Drye’s possess a warmness and sincerity that is palpable. In contrast to stereotypical, generalized Holiday lyrics, they opted for a personalized route. Sharing heartwarming inside jokes and reminiscing on their own family traditions, this Christmas jingle reminds us to cherish all the small things and the seemingly insignificant moments with our families this Holiday season. “Christmas Is Callin’” — penned by Katelyn & Derek Drye and Kelli Johnson — is a toe-tapping, feel-good anthem to soundtrack the festivities.

Debuting earlier this week with Taste of Country, Tricia Despres noted that, "for many, this piece of music from this country duo will bring memories of the holiday music once made by Joey + Rory."

“Christmas is one of our favorite times of the year,” shares Derek. “We wrote this song about those family get togethers; exchanging gifts, laughing about memories of the past, when Katelyn’s sister got Amy Grant’s Christmas album on Christmas Day in 1992 and it played all morning. It’s those moments that inspired us to write this song.”

“Christmas Is Callin’” follows previous single House on Fire,” a passionate make-up song, pointing back to the initial desires felt from a burgeoning relationship. Taking a pause from releasing music, The Drye’s found their next endeavor to be with Blake Shelton on Team Blake for NBC’s “THE VOICE” where they performed through the “Battle Rounds.”

Prior, the duo released “YES,” which had American Songwriter noting how the song “showcases the power of loving someone.” In addition to single Take You Dancin,’” in which Billboard raved “The Dryes kick things up a notch in its infectious new single...the feel-good tune has Derek and Katelyn Drye sharing harmonies on the foot- stomping number.”

The couple launched their career in 2018 with single, “War,” a song based upon Derek Dryes’ personal dealings with his mother’s suicide when he was a baby and paired with an incredibly touching and sincere music video which was spotlighted by CMT. The song catapulted on Spotify and respective official playlists and now logs over six million streams. It was within that searing pain that listeners heard in the song — and in the entirety of their debut EP Vol. 1 — that a growing legion of fans found a refuge of sorts within this couple that refused to shy away from their truth. And they did it all independently, playing by their own rules.

Katelyn and Derek Drye continued their fast-paced growth in 2019 following a powerful launch that caught praise from The Boot and Cowboys & Indians. Jon Freeman of Rolling Stone Country raved about their debut single saying: “The Dryes sing their origin story in the slinky ‘Amen,’ mingling potent sexuality with the salvation of love. ‘I met him singing in the church choir, lit up my heart like that holy fire,’ sings Katelyn Drye over a scuzzy guitar riff that recalls Norman Greenbaum's classic ‘Spirit in the Sky’ and a strutting beat that could make the most conservative church lady clutch her pearls. Derek adds harmonies in the chorus breakdown, a down-low gospel chant that asks the rhetorical question: ‘Can I get an amen?’ With a groove this tough, absolutely.”
