LOS ANGELES, CA (November 11, 2022) –– Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Anna Moon recently released her most personal project yet, Psychic Visions on October 21. To accompany the EP’s sophomore single “Holy Water,” Anna now delivers the expressive music video with hopes to further visualize the track that details Anna’s account of an abusive relationship she witnessed her mother go through. The video showcases Anna’s talents beyond songwriting; she is seen dancing alongside two others, with heartfelt modern choreography that brings to life the emotions in the song.

Listen to Psychic Visions here.

While letting her folk influences shine through, “Holy Water” touches on the roles women play in society and how they’re breaking free, both individually and collectively. Channeling the experiences of females in her life, Anna floats through the song with honest conviction and the impact of the growth she’s endured. “It’s probably my favorite song on the EP,” admits Anna. “I’m so proud of it. And I’m proud of the message it holds. It’s my small contribution to the discussion on the power of women.”

Since embarking on her own journey, Anna has steered away from the electronic-driven sound of her previous band (Moxi) in this new endeavor. The five-track Psychic Visions chronicles an in-depth lyrical exploration of her childhood that sheds light on the stories of generational trauma, grief, abuse, mental health struggles, and how we as humans can only love others as much as we love ourselves, all woven into the fabric of this record.

With a stripped-down approach, focusing deeply on the emotional landscapes of each song, Anna began processing the only way she knew how: through her art. Pouring her all into this project, she is ready to celebrate no longer living in those spaces of fear, trauma or outdated thought processes.

Growing up in Littleton, CO, Anna started writing songs after being gifted her first guitar at 14. “Littleton in the 90's particularly had an entire vibe of its own,” shares Anna. “It’s hard to even explain it unless you were there but the music on this EP is heavily influenced by that.”

Laced with unabashed sincerity, Psychic Visions is a raw embodiment of Anna’s voyage through healing, acceptance and growth. “We can’t really heal until we find the root of the problem and take a good hard look at it,” says Anna. “I suppose that’s what these songs are: they are truly me: honest, vulnerable, coming back to myself, and splayed out for everyone to see, which feels terrifying and beautiful all at once.”
